Unity Announces 2014 A-Stage Lineup

Muskegon, MI- Unity Christian Music Festival officials announced the 2014 “A-Stage” lineup today while also opening the applications process for the annual Talent Search competition. Festival Director Kevin Newton and A-Stage Coordinator Rob Larson released the entire 3 day band lineup featuring urban, rap, hip-hop, pop and rock bands, including several first time Unity performers. “Once again this year at the A-stage we have another solid year of music with a great diversity of genres, so there should be something for everyone!”, Larson said. “We also have returning fan favorites like The Birdsongs and some new artists which should combine to be another awesome year of music. Whether you are young or old there is something for everyone to love at the Unity A-stage this year!”

“We are also very pleased to announce that West Michigan Youth for Christ, a long time Unity ministry partner, will be the A-Stage sponsor for the second year!”, Newton added. “This wonderful ministry team is working to reach out to youth throughout the area all year and they are a great fit for Unity.”

The Unity A- Stage, presented by West Michigan Youth for Christ, will once again feature a combination of National acts and a large number of new and emerging artists who will play at Unity for the first time.

“We know that our audience loves seeing new bands live that they have been hearing on the radio or online and we work hard to bring those groups to Unity each year”, Newton said. “At the A-stage, that includes the chance for bands to play by entering our Talent Search”.

The Unity Talent Search is affiliated with the National Talent Search, organized by the Christian Festival Association. In 2014, 18 CFA festival member events, including Unity, will hold a local Talent Search. The winners from each event will become finalists for the National contest, with the overall National winner receiving a “summer tour” with paid performance slots at ALL participating festivals in 2015. “The Talent Search can be a career launcher for a young band”, Newton said. “There are so many good bands out there and sometimes they just need a chance to play at a large event to move them to the next level.

The Talent Search gives serious bands a wonderful opportunity”. Newton said that the Talent Search entry form and rules went live today at www.unitymusicfestival.com. 8-10 bands will be chosen by the local committee and offered performance time on the A-Stage. Deadline for entries is May 30th
